The ‘Costa del Sol' (Spanish for sunny coast) is a 300 km long section of the Spanish coast on the Mediterranean Sea, the south coast of the Spanish region of Andalusia between Gibraltar and Almería. The costa is located in the Spanish provinces of Málaga, Cádiz and Granada.

The capital of the costa del Sol is often called Málaga. This city is approximately in the middle of the Costa del Sol. In the east you will find Nerja, Frigiliana, Torre del Mar and Velez-Málaga, in the west you will find Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmadena and more. One of the most famous places of the Costa del Sol is the city ‘Marbella’.

The Costa del Sol is one of the few places on the European mainland where you can spend the winter well. With around 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and an average daily temperature of 20ºC, the Costa del Sol has a microclimate that makes it the perfect destination for those looking for sun and pleasant temperatures throughout the year.
